This dog photography session in Massachusetts with Lilah and Wrigley took place at beautiful Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester.
Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester is one of my favorite locations for dog photography in Massachusetts. The soft dunes, open shoreline, and beautiful golden light create the perfect backdrop for natural, expressive portraits. Lilah and Wrigley loved exploring the sand and watching the waves, which made for such joyful and relaxed moments.
Beach sessions give dogs space to move, sniff, and simply be themselves. Whether they’re running along the shoreline or sitting quietly beside their people, the setting allows their personalities to shine. The neutral tones of the sand and sea also keep the focus right where it belongs, on your dog.

I had the honor to photograph these two beautiful souls on a windy day at Wingaersheek, Beach Gloucester, Massachusetts. Lilah and Wrigley both crossed the rainbow bridge this year. The sisters are Bernese Mountain Dogs who we have been talking about photographing for a while. Their human siblings set up the session as a surprise gift to their parents. It was no small feat to smuggle two 80 pound plus dogs out of the house for an afternoon session at the beach, but they pulled it off, and I am so grateful they did!

Lilah was both regal and goofy! She gave and sought comfort fiercely! She was very vocal, a trait her family didn’t know they would miss. Her paws were large, as was her heart!

Wrigley was a Chicago girl that joined her family when she was 1.5 years old. She was born on New Year’s Eve and turned 8, seven days before she left this world. She was sweet, gently and existed to please. She comforted her family through many losses in 2024, and they will not be the same without her!
